It was a bitterly cold day but the funeral went very well and was a very intimate affair with just six family plus a friend and some of Paul's comrades who made the journey in order to provide a Guard of Honour (Dave Griffiths, Ian Roberts, David Plattern aka Lofty, Colin Challice and  Mick Scaife), a Standard Bearer (Ian Cox) and my neighbour (Gil Taylor) who played the Last Post and Reveille live for us.  The Civil celebrant Mark Gilborson did a wonderful job of making the service all about Paul and our memories of him.

Following the funeral I received a short message from Mick Scaife - "It was nice to meet you today although very briefly, I was the fella in the Blood bike gear. You might have heard of me from Paul as I was the one that took him to his last reunion in Blackpool 2019. Please accept my sincere condolences."
